Sindh University Vice Chancellor Mazhar-ul-Haq Siddiqui has stressed upon the youth to carry forward the good traditions set by their forefathers and make efforts for improvement, progress and positive changes according to the needs of modern times. He was presiding over an Inter Departmental English debate for Allama Iqbal Shield on "We lost, what we inherited from forefathers," organised by the Bureau of Students Tutorial, Guidance/ Counselling Service and Co-Curricular Activities (STAGS) at the Department of Statistics of the university on Tuesday.

He said debate contests always helped candidates in development of personality with a strong vision of expression, and added that Sindh University was unique of its kind, which had always promoted freedom of expression/ideas as well as respect for the opposite gender.

He congratulated the debate winners. Speaking next, Advisor to the Bureau of STAGS Professor Dr Kazi Khadim Hussain, highlighted the aims and objectives of the event.

Later, the Vice Chancellor distributed cash awards and trophies among the winners.
